Excuse me, I need a moment to freshen up. It’s too oily outside. The essence of that place is vile.
Excuse me, while I step inside the brain bath. I wash my brain with a twinkling liquid that leaks and seeps into every crevice, it makes it all shiny. Tending in a silky icy swish, it washes each organ and each vein. A refreshing embrace radiates from the inside, a variation of a hug from someone you really, really wanted a hug from.
Excuse me, my brain is so delicate; It’s a fawn, a thin glass bowl, an egg. I am cradling my brain, I am a swan holding its cygnet under its wing. My brain is clean and sleepy. I am a swan on a glassy lake at midnight, I breathe gently and my brain takes a breath with me, a sweeping whisper of breath. Breathing is a syrupy pattern, an eternal echo.
Excuse me, There is a jewellery box scattered across in the sky, the stars are emeralds and sapphires. My brain talks to the stars, they gossip, they are flirting through a series of winks, everything is so glossy, they talk about secret lovely things forever. The breath is a syrupy pattern, an eternal echo.
My brain feels so beautiful when I wash it.
The themes of magic, camp and feminine ecstasy are the heartbeat of my practice. Working with these themes, I harness the materiality and function of light and liquid as tools to materialise spaces that aspire to evoke sensations of complex tranquillity, enchantment and decadence. These ideas have formed the basis of my moving image and installation practice. Brain Bath for a Beautiful Brain is designed to counter feelings of sadness, soaking them in a flirtatious, whimsical environment that places priority on the power of experience. An intimate space where one can regather and wash their brain.
