The Potion is an immersive video and sound installation by Freya Burnett and Fergus Waveforms. Working to generate a flirtatious, whimsical sense of ambiguity that places priority on the power of observation. The Potion explores the potency and allure of light and liquid as both auditory and visual material. We aim to build an environment that tenderly summons the viewer to experience immersive feelings of soothing entrancement.
Merging moments of magic, light as material, textured sound and lush colour. Using the materiality of light and liquid to embrace and investigate the fluidity, movement and hypnotic nature of these particular materials. Reflecting upon ideas surrounding art-as-object by engaging in a process of dematerialization and deconstruction in order to facilitate a space that invites contemplation.
